The Sales and Marketing Professionals’ Rising Star Student Excellence Award is designed to recognize and promote outstanding achievement by students pursuing a degree in sales, marketing or a related field.  It is our intention to invest in those who are the future of our profession.

Applicants for the Rising Star Student Excellence Award are tasked with an essay on why they are interested in or chose their field of study and how they plan to impact the field once employed.  In addition, College Rising Stars will be asked to provide a small portfolio of applicable work that has been completed during school. (I.e. marketing plan, advertisement, press release, etc.)

An independent panel will review applications and select one High School and one College Rising Star, each of which will receive a $1,000 award.  Recipient(s) will be invited to attend and be recognized at the 2025 Mississippi Pinnacle Awards, Tuesday, April 8th at 6 p.m. and the Rising Star Student Excellence Award Program on Tuesday, May 13th at 11:30 a.m. at William Carey University.

Rising Star Qualifications: This should be a high school senior or college student with plans to continue their education in the Fall of 2025 with a focus on sales, marketing, business, or a related field. Portfolio work may be from a class project. The deadline for submitting the Rising Star Scholarship applications is March 14, 2025.
